Nighthawk

I have this soft corner for popular Hondas from the 80s. They had something more, they were modern and glossy. Sport bikes, like the VF750/1000F, were promising high technology, missile speed and race track colors on open roads. And it was cool. But I remember being fascinated by the discret classy/techy style of the roadsters. I'll get back to the VF750C later. for now I want to recall the Nighthawk. In France it was the CB/C, how dull … Nighthawk's much more appealing. I love its simple design, uncovered straight engine. Now I prefer twins or monos, mainly for the pushing sensation, but back in the days, a straight four was screaming like hell and that sound was in every kid's mouth imitating the motorbike sound while playing with its toys. Back to the Nighthawk's design, I like the rectangular headlight, definitely modern, breaking up with the 1970s finesse. I like the sporty tail saying that the bike isn't just comfortable, it's fast too. These bikes were a first step towards easy access ride-ability, efficient road holding, safe braking and headacheless maintenance. Nowadays, they sell for nothing and I'm pretty sure they're still a lot of fun to ride!
